New Executives Join RS21

Now in its eighth year, data science company RS21 is welcoming two new executives to its leadership team. Mark Epstein, MD, MBA and Matthew Ennis, PhD, well known in New Mexico and the broader business community, enter RS21 as Chief Medical Officer and Chief Product and Strategy Officer, respectively. They join Charles Rath, President and CEO, and Melissa Rogers, Chief Operations Officer, as executive leaders.

Mark Epstein, MD, MBA | RS21 Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Mark Epstein serves as RS21’s Chief Medical Officer. With more than 20 years of experience as a healthcare executive and physician leader as well as serving in advisory and investor capacities in the healthcare start-up space, Dr. Epstein has dedicated his career to improving health services for better health outcomes.

He most recently served as Advisor for growth stage healthcare IT companies and as CEO and President for True Health New Mexico. In his role at RS21, he will help grow key service areas while also bringing a breadth of experience in business strategy and growth.

Matthew Ennis, PhD | RS21 Chief Product + Strategy Officer

Matthew Ennis is Chief Product and Strategy Officer at RS21. A seasoned business executive, investor and entrepreneur with scientific training, Matthew brings experience building enterprise value. In addition to leading strategy, he will oversee RS21’s product development, identifying new opportunities and advancing key RS21 products, like SPAICE for AI-powered satellite fault prediction.

Prior to joining RS21’s executive team, Matthew served as an advisor to RS21’s board and was Chief Strategy Officer for Build With Robots.

RS21 is headquartered in downtown Albuquerque and was founded by Charles Rath in 2015 through Sandia National Laboratories’ Entrepreneurial Separation to Transfer Technology program. Since then, RS21 has grown from a one-person consultancy to a highly technical team that builds data technologies to empower leaders to make data-driven decisions.
